DESCRIPTION
This captivating Black with Silver trim Montegrappa Limited Edition Fountain Pen features a black resin barrel with sterling silver created with the celebrated neurologist, Dr. Richard Restak. Restak's work researches the links between the brain, communication and the perception of time. Dr. Restak is a professor of Clinical Neurology at Washington University, and the author of 20+ books about the human brain. This elaborate pen blurs the lines between writing instrument and timepiece, with a quartz clock mounted on its cap and a cut-out barrel end that holds a miniature hourglass crafted in high tempered glass (one of the most complex components ever made in a luxury pen), measuring a 3-second interval, which is the human perception of the present. The barrel, divided in 3 sections, represents the past, present and future. A gold brain is attached to the back side of the cap. The clip, shaped like a pendulum in Art Deco style, is surrounded by decorations that symbolize the sun, the moon and circadian rhythms. The 18kt white gold nib features a design symbolizing thought and the passing of time: a clock and a brain divided in half. Presented in a special circular time-piece case with rotating hands and an exclusive 104-page book by Prof. Restak. This unique pen is part of a limited edition series of 300 - the perfect gift for any intellectual - don't wait another minute!. The Tip is made out of 18K White Gold. The Length is 159mm (6.25"). This fine Writing Instrument is shipped in a Montegrappa Special Collection Box.
