In 1853, Charles-Felicien Tissot, a gold case fitter and his son Charles-Emile founded ‘Charles-Felicien Tissot & Son. Headquartered in Le Locle, Switzerland, the brand originally manufactured pocket watches, and pendant watches.

The first watch designed by Tissot was made of gold and platinum, and was intricately decorated with diamonds. During the World fair in 1900, actress Sarah Bernhardt flaunted an 18kt gold pendant watch made by Tissot. Tissot, as a timekeeper, has been prolific in cycling events, and racing meets. Today, the company is now a member of the Swatch Luxury Group and is sold in more than 160 countries globally.

Designs from Tissot men's watches can be either dressy or sporty, and come in many different materials including stainless steel, ceramic, black, gold, and rose gold ion plating. Recently, the brand has been noted for its ana-digi creation – the T-Touch, which now comes in a solar powered version as well. Other major collections include the T-One, T Lady, T-Sport, and Tradition collections. This Swiss watchmaker crafts all of the major complications in their timepieces such as chronographs, GMTs, skeleton dials, and many others.
